The Little Mermaid 3: Ariel's Beginning

The Little Mermaid 3: Ariel's Beginning tells the tail of Ariel the mermaid growing up under the sea in a prequel set years before 'The Little Mermaid'. From what I can tell from the trailer, it is the uber-dramatic tale of Ariel living in a world of other mer-people, when her mother is kidnapped by humans (maybe Prince Eric) and since she enjoyed singing so much, King Triton decides to make all music illegal in the land, kind of like the musical Footloose (Kevin Costner). Little by little all the kids, especially Ariel, Sebastian, and her fish friend Flounder get together to restore music to the community.

Most of the original cast is reprising their roles in the film, except for the voice of King Triton (created by Kenneth Mars) is being taken over by the voice of Goofy's Pete (Jim Cummings) with a voice that does not match the character at all. The villian is named Marina Del Ray and is a character that looks like just another Ursula clone. Honestly, there must be more evil things under the sea than just 'crabby' old women.
The animation looks to be some of the best 2d animation a Disney Sequel has had to date. I'll give the film a chance because, while it looks childish, it may have something for everyone to enjoy, as at least most Disney movies claim to have. Check out the trailer below.

Here is a 5 minute Clip that shows a lot of the movie.. in a good way though
