Review: THE PAPERBOY

Popular trash movies are sometimes compared to fast-food; they are manufactured to provide immediate satisfaction without little to no concern about the consumer’s health. The Paperboy is trash, but is has more in common with the juicy mess of grease cheese that fills the street-cart burrito you have at 4am in the morning after a long night of drinking than a McBurger cooked up in a sterilized kitchen. Like the burrito, this film has no care, no substance, and no shame but every single moment of it is delicious, rich in texture, and a unique experience.

What We Like: JC's Favorites 2

It is time to start a second round of the films that make up our favorites. It is hard to review films objectively. Well, actually it is impossible. Film reviewing is entirely based on opinion alone; would I recommend these movies? Yes, and if you like the types of movies I like then you should check them out. So what are the movies that make up my favorites? These are movies that are unique (there really isn’t any other movie like them or there hasn’t been in a very long time); these are movies that one can watch multiple times and not get tired of them (you might be surprised but I probably do watch these a lot more than any other movie) and these are films that I would love for you to buy,/rent, and check out because if you like movies like I do you will love these.

Review: HOT TUB TIME MACHINE

So this movie is clearly another case of "Snakes on a Plane" aka a film that people are only excited to see because of the absurdness of its title, and its inclusion of some super cool actors. That's a problem. Because that doesn't make for a very good movie.

Review: 2012

So Roland Emmerich got tired of destroying Manhattan and decided to do the same to the rest of the world. I can safely say he does a much better job when he thinks in larger proportions. 2012 is the Godfather of disaster movies; earthquakes destroy Los Angeles and half of California with it; a volcano erupts and consumes most of the Midwest; tsunamis consume the Himalayas, and the Earth takes an 180˚+ turn turning Michigan into the South Pole! (I'm not joking this actually happens). Of course Emmerich does not expect us to believe this could actually happen, which is good since last time he spent too much time on the "sciency/I want to make this plausible" bullshit it kind of ruined The Day After Tomorrow. 2012 does have "scientific" briefings, which is a bit of a shame but I will get to that later. But first thing's first.

Upcoming Film: HOT TUB TIME MACHINE

Why did I write the title bar in ALL CAPS you may wonder.... well... maybe it is because the movie is called HOT TUB TIME MACHINE. And if that is not the best title ever and enough to sell you on seeing the movie. I don't know what is.

Well, heres a little more info.

The film stars John Cusack, Rob Corddry, and Craig Robinson. It is rumored that Clark Duke is in negotiations to join the cast as well.

Its about 3 guys who lost their mojo and travel back in time in a time machine (in their hot tub) so they can relive their glory days.

It's the same director as Sex Drive (read Wilders review here)

It starts production in April.

God I wish there was a trailer to post below.
