Review: SUPER

             I can safely say I was not expecting Super to play the way it did. This is a sick, demented movie that could have only been conceived by the man who brought us PG Porn. And like PG Porn, this movie pulls the rug right under your feet in order to create a deranged commentary on the genre it is parodying.  This is not your little brother’s superhero movie, nor your parent’s superhero movie; to be honest this isn’t really a superhero movie. It has more in common with Hitchock’s Psycho than it does with Superman. This could be Batman Begins if Bruce Wayne lived on minimum wage in Arkansas. But could we really call that a superhero movie?

The Legend of Zelda: A 1980s Teen Flick

A Legend of Zelda movie is way past due. But hopefully they never make it because most vide game adaptations tend to be pretty lame. But here is an idea; maybe we can re-imagine them as 1980s style teen flicks. It would probably not be a good combination. However, that did it stop these guys from giving it a shot. George Lucas' Worst Nightmare

Ok, I can't wait for this movie.

In a little more than a month, there is going to be an epic collision of all the goodness in the world - Star Wars, Heist Movies, Comedies, and Kristin Bell.

Fanboys is the allegedly true story of a group of intense Star Wars fans who drove to Skywalker Ranch early to get their hands on a copy of Episode One before it was released.

The cast gives me a braingasm. Let's hear it:

Jay Baruchel, Dan Fogler, Chris Marquette, Sam Huntington, and Kristen Bell. I happen to love every single person listed. Not to mention cameos by Seth Rogen, Will Forte, Craig Robinson, Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Danny Trejo, and, yes, almost the whole cast of Star Wars (including but not limited to Billy Dee Williams, Carrie Fisher, and Ray Park).


So in other words, if this is not the best movie ever, I don't know what is.

It was made a while ago, back in 2006 and 2007, and released independently in 2007.

But it will be here in November, and, I can almost guarantee it; the force will be strong with this one.

New Spaceballs Spinoff Animated Series continues to look awful

The first commercial for G4's long in development Spaceballs: The Animated Series has recently gone online here (very NSFW). If you set aside the offensively bad and stiff Flash animation, you still have an incredibly juvenile looking series that retains the Spaceballs franchise in name only. The most depressing thing about this latest trailer is that the series was penned by none other than Mel Brooks himself, he's even including two voices in the series. This is not even just a dumb advertisement on G4's behalf either, but it represents the entire marketing campaign for the series (again, NSFW).

Mel Brooks would be rolling in his grave...if he was dead...and he didn't write this.
